Expedition Members:
Primary members of the SuperSherpas Expedtion are, left to right: Jerry Mika, Apa Sherpa, Roger Kehr and Lhakpa Gelu Sherpa.
APA SHERPA - World record holder with 16 summits, four without oxygen, on Mt. Everest. The 5-foot-4, 122-pound climber was dubbed as Super Tiger of Everest by a Swiss team he helped summit. Has made it to the top every year since with the exception of the infamous 1996 season when his good friend Rob Hall died on the mountain.
Lhakpa GELU SHERPA - Broke the speed record for climbing from Everest base camp to the summit with a time of 10 hours, 56 minutes in 2003. Lhakpa climbed at a rate of 1,000 feet per hour during his summit. Has made it to the top 12 times.
ROGER KEHR - Invited Apa to serve as a guide at the Snowbird Expeditions in the summer of 2005. Kehr and Apa then teamed up to provide extreme high altitude medical training courses for Sherpas in Nepal in the fall of 2005 and 2006. Kehr is serving as the base camp manager of the expedition.
JERRY MIKA - Met Apa in 2003 when they both represented Sherpa Adventure Gear. Mika helped bring Apa's wife and three children to Utah in December 2006. They now live with Mika in Draper and he and Apa own the Karma Outdoor clothing store in East Millcreek.
