Look for regular updates on the blog starting around 10 a.m. Mountain time Tuesday morning.

"The SuperSherpas team has made the decision to head to Camp 4 and the summit," said base camp manager Jerry Mika after talking to Apa and Lhakpa Gelu Sherpa from Camp 2 Tuesday morning [Monday night in the U.S].
Unlike Westerners the Sherpas do not need to stop and rest at Camp 3 and will head straight to Camp 4. Depending upon conditions, the SuperSherpas have the ability to head straight for the summit after a brief rest at Camp 4. They aim to arrive in time for a perfect photo opportunity at the summit Wednesday morning [Tuesday evening in the U.S.] weather permitting. The SuperSherpas team had an opportunity to relay messages to Tashi Tenzing at Camp 2 on the North Side [China side] of the mountain. He is the son of Jamling Norgay who has spent much time with the team and in previous expeditions. He is the grandson of Tenzing Norgay who made Sir Edmund Hillary's summit possible. Tashi reported on the weather from the North Side which encouraged Apa and Lhakpa in their decision making.

    May 14
The SuperSherpas team is staged at Camp 2 watching the weather very closely as the winds and weather play the No. 1 role to the success of the team.
Apa and Lhakpa are veterans and will keep a close eye on the weather for the safety of the team. From base camp we are watching the weather reports and relaying very critical information to our team leaders as they will make the decision by tomorrow to continue up or stay at Camp 2 or come down. We will keep you all posted as to the decision of our team leaders will follow tomorrow.
