5/18/2007 9:07:17 AM -- Tragedy: A ritual on Everest
It is unfortunate that with all of the victory of summiting and the efforts that it takes for these accomplishments there also comes tradgedy.
Two Korean climbers died doing what they loved. The familes of these young fellows are lucky their bodies have been recovered, as there are many still who lie on the mountain frozen in time.
Our climb is over and all of our team is safely back at base camp. We know we have been truly blessed by the mother Godess Chomolongma.
Namaste. (We honor the place in you which is of love, truth, light and peace - this is the meaning of Namaste for you who do not know the meaning and how every Sherpa greets every one they meet.)

5/18/2007 6:43:56 AM -- DAY LOG
Last night at 8:30 p.m. Apa and Lhakpa returned safely to basecamp. Their exhaustion showed as they were greeted by all of us at base camp. Today we have had the remaining six team members who are working their way down through the Ice Fall. They are bringing with them all the tents, food, gear and supplies that were used at Camp 2 and 4. We will keep watching through the spotting scope as they slowly make their way back to base camp. We would like to thank all of you who have been supporting our SuperSherpas team and reading our daily dispatches. I hope that you all have a better understanding about the true nature of the Sherpa people and that giving is always better than taking.
Thank you all again and we will be sending our last dispatch from base camp on 5-19 as we prepare to head back to Kathmandu on the 22nd. Shortly after that we will be coming home to our families whom we miss very much.
Namaste from Team SuperSherpas base camp
